Enhancing the beauty of the Pesaro’s Duomo
Working with the Scavolini Foundation, in collaboration with the Archdiocesi, and the parish of Santa Maria Assunta, Renco is helping to enhance the mosaic tile floors of the San Francesco di Sales Church in Pesaro, with the objective to improve the visibility of the underground heritage. Over the last 20 years, wear and tear have reduced transparency of the tiles. Following months of work restoring the mosaic tile to their once pristine glory, they are officially ready to be showcased.

Work included enlarging the existing glass tiles in the central nave, replacing the current opaque glass covering the tiles, and installing a new lighting system. The new windows will replicate the design of the existing ones and will be installed in place of the current stone flooring, with the goal of enhancing the visibility of the two overlapping mosaic carpets located at the underground level. The new windows will uncover the chronological sequence of the underground mosaics: the right window will provide an expansive view of the 6th-century mosaics and reveal the trench that exposed the 4th/5th-century mosaics, while the left window will showcase the famous ‘Trojan’ ship panel and the 12th/13th-century chessboard overlay.
Pride in Pesaro

We take great pride in supporting this significant cultural milestone, contributing to the city's rich heritage and enhancing its global prominence.
