Milano and Firenze Towers
Renco has begun work on a major modern residential and commercial development project in Yerevan, Armenia, on the site of a former velodrome, incorporating an Italian design aesthetic. The project consists of the construction of two tower blocks, known as the Milano and Firenze towers, which will feature luxury apartments, a financial business centre, and commercial space, as well as an outdoor square and redevelopment of a local park.

In detail
The new towers, designed by Renco’s internal design studio, will serve as an architectural focal point within the capital, while the new urban area will help reimagine the entire neighbourhood. Along with the development of the apartments, financial centre, and commercial and cultural areas, the project will also focus on recovering and reviving existing structures in the immediate surroundings such as a local park.

CLOSE-UP ON THE PROJECT
The tower blocks will be certified under the LEED BD+C Core and Shell protocols, an international certification system. A special focus will be on material selection, system performance, and advanced consumption management technology. Several key aspects of sustainable development have been incorporated into the design of the towers. The external walls feature double insulation to ensure maximum thermal efficiency in winter, while a ventilated façade will provide optimal summer cooling during the summer. The double-glazed windows offer excellent thermal insulation, with those facing south and east equipped with solar control to reduce ultraviolet radiation. Windows and doors have been selected to meet the highest standards for wind tightness and external noise control.
Each apartment will have an autonomous heating and cooling system, powered electrically. Common areas will be lit with low-consumption LED lights. The ground floor of the modern buildings will feature a vibrant commercial area, with shops selling local products, welcoming cafés, and restaurants offering comfortable environments.
The outdoor area will feature various squares, including tree-lined paths characterised by green spaces and flower beds shaped in modern geometric forms, ponds, and benches for public comfort. The squares will also provide space for cultural events, outdoor concerts, and local markets. Utmost attention has been given to ensuring these spaces are sustainable, using recycled materials and energy-efficient lighting. The project will also focus on modernising the local English park and creating a direct passageway between the newly developed area and the park. This will ensure pedestrians have seamless access from the towers to the city centre.
