  • Gas compression stations with “Dry Seals” centrifugal compressors release gases through the Seal Degassing System
  • A typical compressor rated 5MW releases gases at a rate up to 20-30 Nm3/h. This equates to an annual release of 102 to 165+ tons of CH4
  • Hence, Europe’s 200+ gas compression stations with 400+ compressors account for 22.000+ tons or 33+ million m3 of atmospheric Methane emissions
  • As 1 ton CH4 has the equivalent impact on the atmosphere as 21 tons of CO2, the annual CO2-equivalent emission is > 460.000 ton
  • These releases are not only wasteful, they could also impact the safety of the station
