PNRR: Renco at work

In a post-pandemic recovery context, the National Recovery and Resilience Plan (PNRR) emerges as an extraordinary opportunity to redesign Italian public spaces, improving their quality and making them more sustainable. With funding from the European Union, the PNRR focuses on modernisation, energy efficiency and innovation, with special attention to schools, health and sports facilities.

With its extensive experience, Renco plays a leading role in this transformation through projects that not only enhance existing structures but also address the tangible needs of communities.

An educational and sports centre in Sestri Ponente, Genoa

Prominent among these is the project to redevelop the school complex in Sestri Ponente. This initiative aims to create an educational and sports centre of reference for the metropolitan city of Genoa.

In addition to hosting padel and basketball courts and an athletics track, the facility will undergo significant energy efficiency upgrades, while guaranteeing public accessibility for recreational and sports activities.

' The main goal of this initiative is to combine educational and recreational functions, creating a modern school complex that will also include significant energy upgrades. The project will meet technical, system, and regulatory requirements, including fire safety, structural, energy, and acoustic standards’ '

Sport and urban regeneration in the Florence area

In parallel, Renco is involved in the construction of the new municipal swimming pool in Sesto Fiorentino, a project that combines sport and urban regeneration.

The facility will include three indoor pools, an outdoor pool surrounded by a park, grandstands, changing rooms and refreshment areas. The current swimming pool will be demolished to make way for a green area, helping to create a more livable and sustainable environment for the neighbourhood.

' With the new municipal swimming pool, we will redesign two neighborhoods, introducing new functions and improving services. This is a significant achievement because we are talking about a major project that will elevate our city in terms of sports, social engagement, and community gathering '

Claudia PecchioliDeputy Mayor of Sesto Fiorentino

Through these interventions, Renco is not just building facilities, but designing a future that combines innovation, sustainability and attention to people. With the PNRR, our commitment to more modern and inclusive public housing has become a reality, putting the well-being of communities and respect for the environment at the centre.
