Sustainability Report 2024
In a global scenario characterized by complex challenges and the necessary acceleration towards decarbonization, we have determinedly continued our path of sustainable growth. The 2024 Sustainability Report details how we have structurally integrated ESG principles into our business model to guide our strategic decisions.
The document highlights how sustainability is no longer a parallel scope for us, but the supporting architecture of the Group, formalized in a Strategic Plan articulated on five fundamental pillars: People, Community, Planet, Company, Innovation & Supply Chain.
Our 5 Strategic Pillars
PEOPLE: People are the heart of Renco. In 2024 we continued to prioritize safety above all, maintaining the goal of zero fatal accidents thanks to ISO 45001 certification. At the same time, we strengthened our commitment to diversity and inclusion, as we confirmed the UNI/PdR 125:2022 Gender Equality Certification and extended awareness programs to all our international sites.
COMMUNITY: We believe that our growth must advance together with the communities where we operate. Through the Renco Foundation and local partnerships, we generate shared value by supporting healthcare, educational, and infrastructure development projects in countries like Armenia, Congo, and Mozambique.
PLANET: Protecting the environment remains a top priority. We increased investments in renewable energy and low-carbon solutions by 14%. Our flagship reforestation and afforestation project, Ja.Ca.Mbé in Congo, exceeded 700,000 planted trees, contributing directly to CO₂ absorption and biodiversity restoration.
COMPANY: Ethical governance is the foundation of trust. We integrated ESG factors into decision-making and risk management processes, adopting a rigorous Code of Ethics, and initiated alignment with the European CSRD directive to ensure the highest standards of transparency.
INNOVATION & SUPPLY CHAIN: Innovation enables us to build better, today and tomorrow. We apply international protocols like LEED and BREEAM in our projects and select our supply chain according to ESG criteria, promoting responsible procurement and digitalization.
Key Achievements 2024
Energy Transition: We significantly expanded our pipeline of renewable and low-carbon projects, supported by a 14% increase in investments compared to the previous year.
Environmental Impact: Our Ja.Ca.Mbé project in the Republic of Congo continues to grow: we have planted over 700,000 trees across a 40,000-hectare area, combining reforestation with social development for local communities.
Safety & People: Worker protection remains our absolute priority, evidenced by maintaining our goal of zero fatal accidents. We also reaffirmed our commitment to inclusion by renewing our UNI/PdR 125:2022 Gender Equality Certification.
Awards: Our workplace excellence was recognized through our inclusion among the "Sustainability Leaders 2024" (Il Sole 24 Ore/Statista) and the "Top Job Best Employer 2024/25" awards.
