Development project

In detail

Renco has become part of the project group: "Academo Srl”, along with Lendlease Infrastructure Italy, Coopservice SpA, and an investment partner, for the development of the Milano University project. The Group will actively work with the conceding authority UniMi in managing all phases of the project. Renco SpA will be responsible for the detailed design and the construction of the entire MIND UniMi Campus.

' The new Milan campus in the former Expo area represents an extraordinary value for the city and the entire community. It will be an investment in Milan's future. It will represent a place of excellent education, scientific discovery, economic stimulation, and cultural enrichment for the entire region. This campus will contribute to shaping a more prosperous, aware, and inclusive community, and we are excited to see how its value will translate into concrete opportunities for each member of the community '

Focus on the details

CLOSE-UP ON THE PROJECT

The campus is embodied by the concept of Common Ground. This concept in architecture refers to the design of public spaces that are born to be inclusive and accessible, fostering interconnection between the groups that are present in the area. This project entails the design of accessible and  "porous" spaces that are encompassed by views of open areas. These design elements give way to a visual and functional continuity between the campus and the beautiful public areas of the Mind Innovation District.

A focus on sustainability

The project is driven by a focus on sustainability, making it one of the most significant projects within the city of Milan and Italy today. Several green initiatives have been planned for the project from an infrastructure perspective.

For example, energy sources for the air conditioning units of the facilities will be attained from 100% green energy sources, completely excluding the use of fossil fuels. These sources include photovoltaic solar systems on the roofs, groundwater, and nationally distributed networks from certified renewable sources.

A central goal of the project is to achieve the Gold level within the LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) certification. The LEED is a globally acclaimed certificate that awards sustainability achievements for green buildings constructions.

Renco’s long track record of integrating sustainability as one of our key strategic pillars was the reason we were selected to become part of this highly influential project. Today, we are really seeing how sustainability is increasingly becoming an essential criterion to evaluate our propositions.

Safety is our Priority: Incident and Injury-Free

Safety is central to Renco’s culture, guided by the Incident and Injury-Free (IIF) principle to maintain accident-free workplaces. The company has achieved zero fatalities, zero permanent injuries, and no lost workdays over the past five years, thanks to strict procedures, risk management, training, and PPE use.

Projects like the Mind UniMi Scientific Campus adhere to these high standards. For Renco, safety is a strategic investment and shared responsibility, ensuring everyone returns home safely.
