CLOSE-UP ON THE PROJECT
The campus is embodied by the concept of Common Ground. This concept in architecture refers to the design of public spaces that are born to be inclusive and accessible, fostering interconnection between the groups that are present in the area. This project entails the design of accessible and "porous" spaces that are encompassed by views of open areas. These design elements give way to a visual and functional continuity between the campus and the beautiful public areas of the Mind Innovation District.

A focus on sustainability
The project is driven by a focus on sustainability, making it one of the most significant projects within the city of Milan and Italy today. Several green initiatives have been planned for the project from an infrastructure perspective.
For example, energy sources for the air conditioning units of the facilities will be attained from 100% green energy sources, completely excluding the use of fossil fuels. These sources include photovoltaic solar systems on the roofs, groundwater, and nationally distributed networks from certified renewable sources.
A central goal of the project is to achieve the Gold level within the LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) certification. The LEED is a globally acclaimed certificate that awards sustainability achievements for green buildings constructions.
Renco’s long track record of integrating sustainability as one of our key strategic pillars was the reason we were selected to become part of this highly influential project. Today, we are really seeing how sustainability is increasingly becoming an essential criterion to evaluate our propositions.
